First Trip Outside for the Boys

Our puppies are 3.5 weeks old. They have a very solid handle on walking and their eyes are open and they are bright and alert. We are already getting barking and tail wagging out of this crew! They have developed very fast compared with our normal expected time frames and are showing a lot of intelligence and early social skills along with their advanced physical skills.

Today was a lovely, warm day and perfect for bringing the little sweethearts outside for their first trip to grass, plants, dirt and nature. The puppies seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves! I suppose it isn’t too surprising since they really loved the grass and herb filled scent jars earlier last week.

So without further ado here are some pictures of our boys! I decided to post only two posts for all these photos (one for girls and one for boys) but leave a comment below to tell me if you prefer a more organized one-post-per-puppy set up (which is certainly more organized and is simple to do – but also floods everyone with emails announcing posts.) I’d like to know what the parents of this litter like best. Comments below!

**Ok, so it is 3 am and I have to hurry up and get to bed. But I promise there are more Rosie litter babies pictures coming this week as we have lots of exciting stuff to do! See all four of our boys here but forgive my shorter descriptions as I try to get my sleepy rear end to bed!**

Filbert is such a little handsome dude. I know, I’m prejudiced because I’m the people-mommy but look at his sweet little face!

Look at the red in his coat. He has quite a bit of red spread throughout the silver on his coat and splashed in the brown, too.

filbert (6)

Yum… flowers… oh wait… no… not yum at all! Bleh! Ack!

filbert (8)

Haha! Look at that grossed out puppy facial expression. This bitter plant was not yummy!

filbert (10)

One laid back, easy going puppy who is very happy to just lay in my hand upside down or flat on his back. Laid back – but full of playful energy when he is invited to!

Filbert seriously considered jumping down off the kid’s garden bench but decided against it at the last possible second (and nearly slipped off anyway as a result)

filbert (18)

Phew! I almost went down there!

More red in his coat for you to admire. Little red-head in disguise?

Kola is our dark beauty who is lightening considerably as the silvery blue and some of the bronze and copper sable are making themselves well known. Kola is pretty spirited and definitely smart.

Marzipan is so pretty. He is still pretty dark but his black will soon be disappeared except for on his nose, ears and the tip of his tail. He is going to keep changing colors. In the meantime he has such gorgeous bone structure.

Mongongo is last (alphabetically) in our boy’s list but certainly not least. He is still the biggest, calmest little gentleman around. You can see those wheels turning in there all the time but he is still so laid back and mellow. He loves to play and wrestle but doesn’t take it personally like the others do. He plays and seems generally good natured all the time. He is a big teddy bear! And he looks like both of his eyes are going to stay blue! Very pretty – especially with the silver and then stark contrast of the black coat.
